new lounge with glazed corner access to garden terrace
the existing cottage suffered from lack of light to the internal spaces due to the limited size of existing format windows and internal layout; the new works proposed the creation of a new lounge space to the soth and east of the existing dwelling to provide an all day lounge space.
rooflights and windows to all three open sides of the new extension allow the passage of the day to be experienced from the inside of the new lounge.
the lounge is connected an existing window opening to the main house with a glass and zinc clad link corridor; a wood burning stove provides heating to the new highly energy efficient space.
